Phrases to Communicate Belief in Our Kids
Our words have power. As the often quoted Proverb 18:21 says, “the tongue has the power of life and death.” In our home the go to is, “do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up.” Ephesians 4:29
That is the reality. Our words are either building others up, or unwholesome. We tear down or build up when we speak. As parents our words hold tremendous weight and it is important to be thoughtful about consciously speaking words of our belief in our kids. We spend so much of the day correcting our kids, it’s important to also communicate how much we believe in them.
It may start out feeling forced or awkward but printing out a list of phrases you like and just picking one a day to remember to say to each of your kids will go a long way in them realizing the people they admire and respect the most believe in them.
